Eye Candy

This quilt is being made and quilted to enter the 2014 Nebraska State Fair.  Woot, Woot.  And even if it doesn't win a thing, I love it!!
I have two layers of batting in the middle so the quilting really stands out!
This area is on each corner from the center, fans out and is filled with lots of circles.
The square "block" in lower right corner is the center of the quilt.
Colors are aqua, orange, purple, green and the background is actually a very pale yellow.  Love these star blocks - took lots of marking.

More to come later  - I'm not sure how I'm quilting the rest of it, so gotta think 'bout it!

Spring is just around the corner!!

This quilt makes me think of spring with it's lively colors, pretty flower pinwheel blocks and bright yellow backing!

I thought a swirly design in the flower segments would give a sense of movement to the pinwheel, then I stitched swirls to fill the white space in the rest of the block.

A shot of the quilting from the back.  I added diamond shapes in the borders and quilted around the small pinwheel blocks.

Really, the backing is a beautiful bright yellow print - somewhere the colors get a little distorted (camera or computer?).

Here is another shot of the back - now all it needs is binding to finish it off.  Thanks Ann!!!
